Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (Parliament) Zhao Leji arrived in Moscow. His visit was organized at the invitation of Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

At the ramp, Mr. Zhao was met by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma, Ivan Melnikov, the press service of the State Duma reported. The head of the Chinese parliament will take part in a meeting of the interparliamentary commission on cooperation on July 10 and in the BRICS Parliamentary Forum, which will be held on July 11-12 in St. Petersburg.

"The purpose of my visit is to implement important agreements of our heads of state together with our Russian colleagues at the legislative level," Zhao Leji said. According to him, "under the strategic leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin, the Sino-Russian comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation in the new era are developing at a high level."
